Arte Flamenco Dance Studio

I had the opportunity to spend a Saturday at the Arte Flamenco dance studio a few weeks ago.  It was like we packed up Danny’s warehouse and put it on wheels for the day.  The studio is located in downtown Alhambra, I’ll give the address at the end of this post.

Clarita and Art run the place, and it is warm and inviting dance studio.  I love that the flamenco classes are held in an open studio so the people walking down Main street get a view of the beautiful outfits and smooth dance movements.  That would be enough to get me into the place to try a class!  Seeing the women in the long ruffled skirts with the heels and the little black hats with the music pumping was amazing.    And now back to Clarita…

Clarita has been dancing since she was 6 and studied with some of the top Spanish dancers.  While living in Spain her dance career exploded and she began touring Europe as a solo artist.  She came back to the US and created the Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre.  The studio teaches more than Flamenco too.  They have ballet, belly dancing, tap, hawaiian and tahitian, and hip hop.  This truly is the center of world dance.
